Position Summary
The Senior ERP Systems Analyst works at an advanced level maintaining, designing, and configuring complex applications and utility software in support of the university's Oracle cloud ERP and administrative systems. This includes the student and financial aid systems, financials, human resources, payroll, benefits and related business functions. The Senior ERP Systems Analyst functions as a recognized expert in a combination of multiple technical and application areas providing documentation and cross-training other staff and leading new initiatives. - Skills Required
- Expertise in designing, developing, testing, and deploying ERP applications
- Proficiency in application design and data modeling
- Ability to define and solve logical problems for highly technical applications
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical clients
- Ability to lead activities on structured team development projects
- Application software expertise regarding the ERP modules assigned
- Understanding of workflows and security implications to processes supported
- PL/SQL technical skills and strong analytical analysis
Essential Functions
- Conceptualizes design, implementation, and configures solutions for complex systems/processes independently
- Excellent client-facing skills working closely with internal and external parties to gather business requirements for complex business processes.
- Documents and maintains system builds and application configurations for payroll and benefits.
- Provides production system support and issue resolution
- Works as a project leader, as needed, for projects of moderate complexity
- Serves as a technical liaison for applications
- Compares, evaluates, and implements new features and technologies
- Mentors lower-level analysts and team members
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Additional Functions
- Identifies and maps business requirements to the Cloud functionality
- Conducts Functional Design Workshops
- Identifies functionality gaps and builds extensions for them
- Advises customers on options, risks, and any impacts on other processes or systems
- Writes business requirement documents for reports, interfaces, data conversions, and application extensions
- Develops security and validation strategies and plans
- Assists customers in preparing validation scripts, testing scenarios, and developing and executing test scripts
- Validates configuration and data
- Leads migration of configuration, integrations, and extensions to the production environment
- Stays up to date on any changes or upgrades to existing technology around his/her responsibilities; develops and delivers training on new systems and processes
- Documents inconsistencies/ issues/ concerns for follow-up and /or resolution by the software vendor(s) as needed
Preferences
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Two to five years of Oracle ERP Experience in the Functional support role
- Experience with enterprise applications and understanding of database-driven applications
- Experience with HR benefits and payroll
- Knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes, and workflow
- Understanding of the software development life cycle
- Knowledge of SQL scripting
- Skill in conducting interviews
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to bridge functional and technical resources
- Listening, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to maintain good customer relations with customers, vendors, and partners
