Department Overview As a security first organization, Technology Delivery Services (TDS) is part of the Information Technology (IT) Department. The TDS teams include Information Security, Planning (architecture and PMO), Application Development, HR & Payroll Development, Infrastructure, and Client Services teams. Position Summary This position supports the Oracle Financials Cloud for the University of California Office of the President (UCOP), including support for General Ledger, Procurement, and other Financial Management functions. The Finance Applications Team provides research, design, development, and support services for the Finance applications. This position is in the Finance Applications group within the Technology Delivery Services (TDS) department and reports directly to the Financial Applications Manager. The incumbent will work closely with campus locations, business partners, vendors, the project team, and other technology professionals.The Senior Oracle Support Developer is responsible for all technical aspects of maintaining and supporting UCOP's Oracle Financials suite. This includes, but is not limited to, designing, evaluating, developing, modifying, debugging, and deploying complex Oracle configurations and customizations.This position may be required to provide remote on-call support during off hours. Occasional travel may be required with notice. Flexible work arrangements are available.
Key Responsibilities
40% Operational Support: Handle the technical aspect of maintaining and supporting day-to-day Oracle Financials activities: Design, develop, modify, debug, deploy and evaluate complex Oracle configurations and customizations. Work with functional and technical resources to support cloud systems (e.g., general ledger, bank transactions, procurement exchanges, Concur T&E, etc.). Log Oracle support requests, review patches, deploy, and provide operational support. Develop solutions that leverage existing frameworks, align with the overall enterprise cloud architecture and vision, and are compliant with the established coding standards and other development principles.Partner with other parties, including vendor consultants, to incorporate industry best practices and development of defect-free enhancements for the system. Collaborate with core development team members, subject matter experts, and campus project teams as necessary. Work closely with University business and/or technical counterparts to deliver enhancements that are compliant with industry and application best practices. Initiate changes in development, maintenance and system standards. Set the technical requirements for complex software specifications. Apply advanced software concepts to plan, design, develop, modify, debug, deploy and evaluate highly complex software for functional areas. Apply and enforce complex programming security practices.Perform highly complex data analysis and test/debug highly complex software, working directly with management. Initiate, analyze, design and apply highly complex data sources.
30% Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with core team members, subject matter experts and business partners. Proactively engage other ITS teams in cross-functional efforts. Communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner. Understand and communicate with business partners in business terms and use this understanding to assure the business partner's understanding of work status, risks, issues and proposals. Work with multiple stakeholders to develop solutions against the departmental roadmap. Openly share plans and strive to prevent surprises within and across the organization.
20% Technical Expert:Mentor the technical work deliverables of junior team members. Participate in and provide subject matter expertise to other areas as needed. Understand and apply industry practices, community standards and department policies and procedures in depth. Remain current on technology trends. Foster an innovative, inclusive, and supportive work environment.
10% Design, Integration, and Documentation:Create technical design documents, test plans for applications, prepare time estimates, develop conversion and/or integration plans and system implementation plans. Review and prepare flow-charting and data analysis for requested customizations for potential inclusion into the existing Oracle Financials ecosystem. Document and execute transformation of the University's financial accounting, planning and budgeting solutions to an Oracle cloud environment. Other duties as assigned.
Experience Required Qualifications
Min 8 years of experience in Oracle Financials Cloud, with a strong working knowledge of accounting processes.
Skills and Abilities Required Qualifications
Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms and translate complex business rules into technical designs.
At least 2 full cycles of Oracle EBS Financials implementations, including the General Ledger, Sub-ledger Accounting, and Procure to Pay (P2P) modules.
Experience implementing and providing technical expertise in the following modules in Oracle Financial Accounting: General Ledger, Asset Management, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Fixed Asset, Procurement, Administer Workflow, EDMCS, and ARCS.
Implementation experience in Oracle PPM (Projects Portfolio Management).
Experience in end-to-end implementation of Oracle P2P (Procure to Pay).
