What will you be doing in this role:
The SQL Database Administrator works closely on the EIS DBA technology team and with other EIS staff to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize our vast array of applications, environments, and the systems they run on. This includes SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, SAP HANA and PostgreSQL databases, both on-premise and in our cloud platforms. Our fast-paced and dynamic environment presents an outstanding opportunity to not only maintain current systems, but to design and build new ones with the latest technologies. Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and multitasking capabilities are required to ensure success.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Installs, upgrades, maintains, patches, and supports relational databases on selected server platforms.
- Defines, implements/maintains database recoverability, configurations, security, resource allocations and disaster recovery plans.
- Mentor and develop DBA skills for staff through individual and team training.
- Create and maintain scripts to expand automation and efficiency using scripting technologies.
Experience Requirements:
- Three (3)+ years of SQL production database administration experience. (Healthcare sector preferred)
- Hands-on and extensive knowledge of SQL Server Databases.
- Hands on knowledge of Cache and SQL Server 2008 and up.
- Project management experience.
- Skills in monitoring, tuning, and administrating Microsoft SQL Server databases.
Preferred experience in:
- AWS (RDS, EC2, CloudFormation)
- MySQL, PostgreSQL and SAP HANA
- Database Management using storage snapshot technologies (NetApp, EMC)
- PowerShell, Shell, Python, or other scripting languages.
Educational/Certification Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. (preferred)
SQL Server certification. (preferred)
