The Senior Business Systems Analyst will work closely with the my.harvard Schools, to gather business requirements for new enhancements and design, document and present solutions. This hands-on role, will include application configuration, set-up , testing and troubleshooting within the various PeopleSoft Campus Solutions modules. The ideal candidate must demonstrate creativity, a keen problem-solving ability along with proven leadership, collaboration and facilitation skills.
Support Schools with various activities, including: requirements gathering, system configuration, development of presentation materials, documentation, customer outreach, issue management, troubleshooting, peer outreach and end user training.
Interview key stakeholders and end users on business processes and needs; translate business requirements into Agile stories.
Work with the technical team to convey and clarify requirements as part of the development process.
Participate in daily standups, planning and retrospective meetings.
Present at user group meetings.
Knowledge sharing with team members and the Schools
Develop expertise in multiple modules of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
Develop queries using PS Query
Develop test scripts and execute testing to ensure upgrades, enhancements, defect fixes, and patches function as expected, without introducing regression issues.
Provide functional support during project/release go-lives, which may include occasional evening or weekend work.
Assist with general administration, special projects, and perform other related job duties as needed
Typical Core Duties
Work at an expert level within a team on most phases of service analysis and consider the business implications of technology applications to the current and future business environment
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into systems requirements and scoping
Define systems requirements, conduct gap analysis, and identify feasible alternative solutions that meet defined business objectives
Responsible for business transition management to ensure that systems are understood by users
Contribute to budget planning
Contribute to the development of plans and policies for a unit/school
Abide by and follow the Harvard University IT technical standards, policies and Code of Conduct
Minimum of five years' post-secondary education or relevant work experience
Additional Qualifications and Skills

At least five (5) years experience working with administrative systems, preferably in a business analyst capacity.
At least three (3) years experience working with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or other student administration applications.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills and technical writing ability.
Fluency with Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and work autonomously.
Proven experience with relational databases including SQL.
Direct experience with business analysis tools and techniques strongly desired.
Solid understanding and demonstrated use of iterative development (preferably Agile) desired.
Proven communications and writing ability (sample will be required).
Demonstrated organizational skills, especially with the ability to manage and track a large number of details and facts and understand how each detail fits into the "big picture".
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment; willingness to go "above and beyond" to meet critical deadlines.
Adept at evaluating problems accurately and displaying sound judgment, including measured risks and timely escalation.

In light of the global pandemic, all interview and onboarding activity for HUIT will be conducted via telephone & Zoom video conferencing. If you accept our offer and join the team, your position will be based on our campus in Cambridge, MA. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you will begin your work remotely. The remote nature of this job is only temporary, and all remote work must be performed within the United States. We currently expect that you will work remotely until July 31, 2021. We will, of course, keep you updated as we know more. Once the University and your supervisor determine that it is appropriate, we look forward to welcoming you to campus. At that time, you will be required to move your work location to the Cambridge campus as a condition of continued employment.
