Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Application Administrator (Remote/Virtual) 16652 Description The Information Technology Services department at West Virginia University is seeking applications for an ERP Application Administrator (Professional Technologist 3/4). This position serves as a member of the Banner Operations team. The Banner Operations team is charged with operational support of the Ellucian Banner Student Information System and all Student related applications (STAR). These applications provide functions including but not limited to document management, job automation, workflows, address correction/verification, transcript processing, and room scheduling. As an ERP Application Administrator, your job responsibilities will include but are not limited to: - Providing application administration, access management and security administration for business critical applications. Applications will include, but are not limited to: Ellucian Banner, Banner Document Management, Workflow, Argos, JAMS, R25, BlueSEI, and InstantAddress.
- Working independently with little to no supervision.
- Designing, evaluating, and recommending new procedures and processes to enhance service delivery and improve efficiency.
- Evaluating and optimizing existing procedures and processes.
- Developing and maintaining application documentation and diagrams.
- Performing system level testing for upgrades, integrated system upgrades, and new business application deployments.
- Working with vendors as needed for issue reporting and resolution.
- Evaluating and recommending implementation of new application modules, features, or entirely new systems based on operational or business needs.
- Working with customers to document/define business needs.
- Adapting business needs to technical requirements and functionality.
- Working to implement existing application solutions. and making recommendations for the implementation of new applications, tools, or services as needed.
- Troubleshooting complex technical issues, working with the vendor as needed to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Responding to major incidents 24x7 as needed.
- Functionally leading projects to implement new or upgraded applications, processes, or services.
- Collaborating with other technical and business teams to successfully complete the projects.
- Attending appropriate training, conferences, and seminar events to expand knowledge, track technology trends, and establish/maintain peer relationships that will improve the ability to serve the University.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Four (4) years of experience in the following:
- Supporting complex enterprise resource planning systems, including access management and stringent security requirement administration
- Defining, documenting, and implementing procedures and business processes for administering and supporting complex ERP systems
- Creating and maintaining documentation of standard operating procedures, application diagrams, interfaces, major processes, etc., which are necessarily to manage and support complex enterprise systems.
- An intermediary understanding of Workflow technologies as used in business process management, technical process management, and job process automation.
- Proven experience with ERP Applications
- Knowledge of the design and implementation of enterprise infrastructure systems and equipment. Working knowledge of TCP/IP networks.
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills with the ability to interact at all organizational levels, including technical staff, managers, and end users.
- Ability to prepare technical documentation, justify approach used, resolve complex issues, explain and train staff, express technical information to non-technical users, and gather information from users relating to system configuration
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to logically reason and apply knowledge to analyze, solve, project, and solve complex technical problems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize as needed with minimal supervision all while maintaining a commitment to customer service
- Ability to work as a member of a team with diverse skill levels and expertise from multiple areas
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
- Broad knowledge of information security issues, requirements, trends, and industry best practices.
Requirements Preferred Requirements: (in addition to the minimum qualifications) - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or an Information Technology Field
- 4-5 years experience with various Ellucian products, including Banner, Banner Document Management, and Banner Workflow, Argos and JAMS
- Knowledge of Structured Query Language SQL on an Oracle database.
- Demonstrated ability to administer servers running multiple operating systems and applicable scripting languages. PowerShell, Linux, and Unix
- 5 years overall IT experience working with enterprise level applications
- 1 to 2 years' experience mentoring and leading junior staff. (providing training and technical knowledge in management of Banner and for on-going technical project(s)).
