King County's Business Resource Center (BRC) is looking for a new member to join our fast-paced Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Database Administration group in the Shared Services team! The team is excited to announce the creation of a new ERP DBA position which will lead the DBA team’s operational support of our Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) financial and our PeopleSoft HR/Payroll systems. The position’s master level is the county's highest-level database administrator position that includes leading teams and significant projects. This position will lead other team member’s operational support work as well as provide hands-on Database and Middleware administration of these applications ensuring the availability and performance of these critical business applications used countywide
The person in this position will collaborate and partner with BRC EBS and PeopleSoft systems teams to plan and deliver services required to meet operational and/or project delivery schedules. In the lead role, the candidate will mentor and guide operational DBA work as well as participate as a working DBA to administer, patch and support Oracle databases, middleware, integration and reporting tools that include technologies such as WebLogic and Oracle SOA Suite. They will coordinate with our infrastructure managed services provider and King County's IT systems engineering and network teams to plan and implement disk storage expansion, technical architecture changes, server and storage patching, as well as troubleshooting and monitoring the health of the applications. This position may serve as a technical expert for projects and business initiatives such as implementation of the Procurement Technology Modernization project that includes new Oracle SaaS modules. This position has also been created to free up existing DBA resources to focus on cloud adoption strategic initiatives. Candidates with expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure may contribute to these projects.
The ideal candidate is a good communicator, works well in teams as a leader and an individual contributor, and an intellectually agile problem-solver able to deal with complex concepts comfortably. He or she will be able to retain composure and work well in a team of DBAs while developing standard practices, participating in cross training and sharing solutions for consistent support of the ERP systems.

As the DBA Operations Lead - Oracle ERP, you will be able to demonstrate the skills, ability and experience required to do the following:
Experience leading and mentoring a DBA team.
Expert level of hands-on Oracle EBS 12.2 and/or PeopleSoft 9.2 technical administration. Preference will be given to candidates that have experience in both applications.
Your team will be responsible for the quality and responsiveness of support to the Oracle EBS and PeopleSoft application teams with activities like:
Proactive support of Oracle databases including maximizing system availability, database patching and upgrades, managing database operations, performance tuning, troubleshooting, creating new database instances, cloning/refreshes, backup and recovery, and monitoring and maintaining database security and access.
Operational support of Oracle EBS 12.2 including upgrades, patching, cloning/refreshes, interface/integration support, monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and configuration.
Operational support of PeopleSoft 9.2 including PUM DPK configuration and deployment, Integration Broker setup and configuration, PeopleTools upgrades, patches and PRP application, troubleshooting, COBOL installation, interface/integrations, and Elastic Search DKP deployment and integration.
Administer WebLogic applications such as SOA Suite and BI Publisher.
Infrastructure support including capacity planning
Developing Linux shell scripts used to proactively manage system availability and performance or to automate system administration tasks
Responsible for producing metrics reports and meeting established SLA targets
Skilled in using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and performing DBA tasks using command line functions
Standard work documentation.

Have excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical audiences. Able to initiate cross-team meetings, stand-up huddles and brainstorming sessions when needed to coordinate rapid response to emerging issues.
Have a strong background leading, mentoring operational Oracle ERP teams, expertise and hands on experience with supporting large, integrated Oracle enterprise systems;
Have the demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex initiatives in a fast-paced production environment.
