The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC. is seeking an experienced Senior Application Developer with demonstrated experience and expertise in Oracle’s Hyperion Planning and Budgeting Cloud Services (Oracle PBCS) product to support APL’s Oracle PBCS solution portfolio.

Provide technical solutions and support for APL's Hyperion Planning and Budgeting Cloud Services (Oracle PBCS) products and services
Design, develop, implement and support financial planning and reporting solutions using Oracle PBCS (Hyperion Planning and Budgeting Cloud Services) as well as providing technical and functional guidance, assistance and support to APL staff using this product and service (70%)
Perform unit, system and interface testing associated with the Oracle PBCS (Hyperion Planning and Budgeting Cloud Services) product and corresponding system interface areas, as well as provide guidance and assistance to APL staff to support these testing activities (10%)
Develop associated technical and functional Oracle PCBS documentation including but not limited to requirements, design, code testing and end user documents, etc. (10%)
Attend and participate in requisite project and operational meetings and work sessions and provide timely updates on work performed to APL peers, management and the APL Oracle PBCS (Hyperion Planning and Budgeting Cloud Services) customer community (10%)
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; or equivalent years of related professional experience
7+ years of experience as an application developer with strong skills and knowledge in:
Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Services (PBCS) and Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) with specific emphasis on:
FR reporting (including hands-on experience with creating and maintaining HFR)
Business rules and calculations
Smart View Adhoc
Multiple managed PODS and releases
EPM Automate - with error handling
Power shell scripting
High-volume integrations and data loads
Essbase / Hyperion Planning
Architecting, designing and implementing integrated Oracle PBCS solutions with outside enterprise services, data sources and associated security protocols
Business requirements gathering and analysis, with emphasis on Fit-gap
Authoring functional and technical specifications, developing test plans, conducting unit and integration testing, troubleshooting technical and user issues and interacting with business end users
Creating, managing and helping to resolve Oracle Service Requests (SRs)
Successful release schedule deployments
Admin backup role
Communication (Excellent oral and written), customer service, teamwork and collaboration skills across all levels of staff
Excellent hands-on and analytical problem solving skills
Skills, experience and knowledge in the following areas:
Budgeting, planning and forecasting for Federal contracting
Industry best practices within performance reporting and planning
Oracle E-Business Suite
Jython / Python
Oracle data Integrator (ODI)
ITIL Incident Management
Special Working Conditions: Occasional weekend and other after hours work may be required to complete critical project and/or operational tasks
