The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for managing in-house servers, storage devices, network devices/connections, databases, and computer software to ensure high availability and security of the supported business applications. In addition, this role will play an integral role in the future migration of an on-premise datacenter to a hybrid cloud based infrastructure. This individual will also participate in the planning and implementation of information systems to ensure the provisioning and maintenance is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities: •Manage physical, virtual, and cloud based environment of 50 plus servers using VMware, Azure and/or AWS, Windows, and Linux. •Manage Microsoft Active Directory, Cloud based active directory solutions, group policy, and domain controllers. •Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware upgrades, patches and reconfiguration procedures. •Manage all centralized storage technologies, such as a SAN NetApp appliance. •Proactively manage and maintain servers, switches, and network firewalls. •Migrate on-premise servers to a cloud based environment. •Network hardware asset management, including maintenance of server component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information. •Assists in the administration of all Oracle and MS SQL database components. Work with vendors to performs ongoing management, tuning, and backups of database instances. •Manage the physical environment of the data center including server racks, cable management, UPSs, AC, documentation, and labeling. •Provide after-hours support for infrastructure related emergencies as well as occasional weekends for maintenance. Security •Ensure the security of the server infrastructure by implementing industry best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. •Administer and cross train team members to use enterprise antivirus solutions, such as Cisco AMP. •Maintain, update, and test all Disaster Recovery Procedures •Responsible for all backup software and jobs used to backup and restore company data. •Assists in the development and maintenance of the IT budget including, all hardware and software purchases, as well as, all hardware and software licenses and maintenance contracts. •Participate in and support strategic planning of long-term IT strategic goals in conjunction with end-users and department managers. •Develop and maintain documentation about IT procedures, environment setup, standard operating, and best practices. •Develop required reports in response to business users and management needs.
•Bachelor of Science in MIS, IS, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. •Windows MCITP/MCSA/MCSE is preferred. •At least 5-10 years' experience as a systems administrator in an enterprise environment. •Experience with VMware vSphere ESXi 6.x physical hosts and VMs. •Experience with numerous Microsoft administrative applications such as Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Office 365, DNS, DHCP, IIS, etc. •Experience with MS SQL server and/or Oracle administration. •Experience with Cisco switch configurations. •Experience with Cisco ASA Firewalls. •Experience administering antivirus and malware tools such as, Cisco AMP for Endpoints and Malwarebytes. •Experience migrating on premise servers to AWS and/or Azure.
