This position will assist in maximizing the value derived from the University's systems through the development of applications used to enhance functionality, improve efficiencies, and promote the effectiveness of the University staff. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: designing, developing and implementing software solutions that integrate with the University's Enterprise Resource Planning System (Banner ERP system).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, code, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate, database, and programming technology.
Ability to make good technical decisions that impact positively on adjacent systems and provide useful features.
Maintain and modify programs; make approved changes by amending documentation, developing detailed programming logic, and implementing changes.
Confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs. Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls.
Convey concepts and ideas to both technical and functional team members in a clear and concise manner in an effort to provide a common understanding of complex subject matter.
Execute thorough software testing and quality assurance.
Produce comprehensive design specifications and corresponding documentation as per the guidelines of the organization.
Continued knowledge acquisition of new and emerging technologies in an effort to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the solutions we provide to our user community.
Free Thinker who can suggest ways to improve our solutions while at the same time can provide clear and concise reasoning to back up their position.
Mentor staff by leveraging previous experiences and relating them to current issues.
Assess software problems or business process issues and determine suitable programming solutions.
Leverage the capabilities of the ERP and its ancillary systems in an effort to produce a more robust solution to the user community.
Ability to work with 3rd party vendors in a professional manner that promotes collaboration and mutual respect.

BS or BA degree in Information Systems or equivalent degree with work experience.
ERP System or equivalent Enterprise Application (Ellucian’s Banner ERP preferred).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Solid understanding of RDBMS (Oracle).
Ability to Develop and Maintain Complex Oracle Programs(PL/SQL)
Demonstrated experience in multi-developer environment using effective source code and project change control.
Understands the concepts of SDLC (Software Development LifeCycle)
Excellent communication skills required.
Knowledge of project management techniques with a focus on handling different tasks simultaneously.
Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.
Demonstrated ability to work within a matrix management organization while effectively supporting multiple projects and deadlines.

Leverage the skills of others, including business partners and technical team.
Responsibilities may require some evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported
